Miss Kiskis

Today I had the pleasure of photographing the Kiskis family for the first time.  Tyler, 10, and Marie, 8, were not only great sports, but most cooperative. Marie is celebrating her First Communion tomorrow, so we got some shots of her in her beautiful dress in addition to the fun family shots.  Here are a few of my faves:

The whole fam enjoying the change of weather (finally!)

Marie was so great at taking direction…

and she and her brother both have the most stunning blue eyes…

And this wasn’t exactly what I was going for with Tyler, but this is what I call a happy accident.

Thanks to the Boutwell’s for the actions…

You MUST ‘Meet the Robinsons’!

We took the kids to see this on Saturday, and I must say…this could be one of my all-time faves!  It was such a sweet story and there were at least two instances that made me belly-laugh (Trent even gave me the ‘Mom, you’re embarassing me’ elbow once).  It is a great family flick, and if you didn’t have a soft-spot for adoption before, you will now.  Go see it…NOW!

Mary, Mary…

I can’t believe a week has passed since I last posted.  I swore I was going to be good at this, posting several times a week, but so much for that…

Last week I went to visit the Oaks.  Miss Mary is growing like a weed…and she’s growing some great expressions, too.  Check her out:

And remember Mother’s Day is coming.  You should book now if you would like to give a portrait gift!

Sunday Easter Sunday

Happy Easter, all!  We had a fun day…after chuch my in-laws came and hid baskets for the boys.  Then we went to my grandmother’s for dinner.  Pretty low-key, but lots of laughs.  Here’s Trent & I:

Here are the boys goofing together (not sure how many more years I’ll get away with the semi-matching sweaters…)

And then the beautiful sunset on the way home.  Thank you, Lord…

Dreaming of a White Easter

We woke up to snow on the ground the day before Easter!  This weather is just nuts!  Can’t wait to wear my new Easter dress under my wool winter coat…

Nevertheless…He is Risen! He is Risen, indeed.  Snow and everything.  Happy Easter!

Its A Girl!

She doesn’t have a name yet, and there may not be room in the garage, but please say hello to the newest addition to the Owens’ family:

She is a ’68 Saab, and the interior is near-mint.  I know, I know…the last thing we need is another car.  But this one doesn’t have a payment attached and we own it free and clear.  This is my kind of car…

I finally got to go visit my friend Nolan today.  He has been rotating viruses with his brother & sister for the past few months, so after two rescheduled apointments, we finally got to take some pictures!  His performance was short but sweet and we got some really cute shots.  Here are a couple of my faves:

What a beautiful sky today!  Another 85 degree day, and of course it will be cold again by Wednesday!

My Little VonTrapps

For those of you who know my kids, you know performing is one of their least favorite things to do.  Well, tonight was the parent-version of the grandparents day show they will put on tomorrow.  They both did so well…here are a couple shots of them:

(And that pretty girl next to him is the one who took him back last week after the apology!)

Then after the show was over, we noticed a HUGE moon low in the sky, so we drove to the airport observation park to get a better look.  The kids crawled out the sunroof to get a bird’s eye view…

80s Party

Well, our annual 80’s party was this past weekend…it was great!  It was great to have all of our favorite people in our home at the same time and kick back and have some fun.  The iPods were playing all of our favorite songs from high school (so not a total 80’s party) and there were a few vintage outfits…

Kent as the surfer, Graham as Dexy’s Midnight Runner, and Rusty as John McEnroe?

Dina wearing her soccer jersey that still fits (I hate her), me, and Kik whose outfit you can’t really see here was straight out of 1989.

Thanks to all who made it and for all the great food and fun!  Can’t wait til next year!  And if you’d like to see all the photos, drop me an email and I’ll send you a link.
