Tommy & Macie

These two thought it was so funny to have their stockings hung up before Thanksgiving.   Here are their giggly selves:

I love this smile on Tommy:

And Macie:

And then Lee hopped in a couple at the end:

I hope you guys have a safe & fun trip to visit your family this Thanksgiving!

VanderRoest Family

Michelle & Nate wanted to try and wait out the foggy start, so I met them at Piney Orchard in the afternoon, and boy, did that work out!  The sun came out and we got some really great stuff…

Now, I didn’t get a great one of the two together…AJ had other plans.  But I did get great individuals…here is Rachel:

And Mr. AJ:

It was good seeing you guys again!

Toton Family

It started out a foggy, grey day on Monday, but that didn’t stop us from getting some really nice photos of the Toton family.  They looked so nice all decked out in thier Christmas clothes…

Tyson was a ham:

While Payton slept thru the whole thing:

We even managed to get one of them together:

Thanks so much for having me out…it was great to meet you guys!

Stacy’s Belly

Well, it started out as another rainy day, but by the time I got to Stacy & Chris at 4pm, it was a sunshiny day!  We hijacked thier neighbor’s waterfront backyard and got some beautiful scenery in the background…I was so excited!

But then, after taking a pit stop to get some nice fall foliage in the back, I saw the side of this red house, and I got REAL excited!  Stacy was such a sport doing some really weird posing and stuff, but it was totally worth it (and Chris was most accommodating, as well).  Look at this…

And then this one is my favorite…it is a little out of focus full size, but I just love her expression (not to mention the colors)!

I can’t wait to meet your little guy in January!  Thanks for doing all the crazy stuff I asked you to…  🙂

It’s Almost Over…A Note to my Clients

Wow…next Thursday is Thanksgiving…can you believe it?!  My portrait-taking season is winding down, and will officially be complete on December 1st.  I can’t thank you all enough for all you have done for me over the past year by sending your friends and families my way.  I just did a count of my client roster, and I have 147 families on the list!  Can you believe that?  And I have all of you to thank.  So from the bottom of my heart, please accept a most grateful thank you!

This has been a crazy, busy time and I have honestly had a hard time keeping my head above water.  My wedding clients have suffered the most, as those take so much more time to edit.  So here is a quick shout-out to them…you may think I have forgotten all about you, but I promise, I have not!  I appreciate your patience.

Many people have been surprised to hear that my shoot cut off is so early this year, but that is how it has to be.  There are plenty of orders yet to fill, and reorders on shoots from earlier in the year…not to mention preparing our family and home for what I hope will be a most peaceful Christmas.  I don’t want to discourage you from sending your friends my way, but just be aware that there are only a few weekday appointments left available.  They may have to wait until next year.

After the insanity of this season, I am looking to make some changes to outsource and streamline the way things work next year.  I am totally open to suggestions, so if you have any, please leave comments below.  In that vein, if there are any other changes you would like to see made, or services or products you wished I offered, please leave that in the comments as well.

Reading back over this, it sounds like I’m going somewhere…dropping off the face of the earth.  I’m not!  I just wanted to keep everyone in the loop as far as my schedule goes, as well as send along thanks for that impressive client roster!

You guys rock!  🙂

The Millenburg’s

I think I may have spent more time in the Millenburg house when I was a teenager than in my own, so when they asked if I would update the family photo for Pop, I gladly obliged.  (Okay, maybe the offer was tainted with promises of Cosmos afterwards, but whatever…)

Here are the four siblings:

Poor Derek was freezing cold, so as soon as he gave up this smile, he made a bee line for the warm car:

Greg, his wife Angela, and Grant & Caroline (great smiles, everyone!):

Dina, Aaron & their new baby, Remy:

And then there’s Kik and her hubby, Kent, and thier boys, Camden & Turner (and thats a real smile on Kent…not the phony one we usually see in pictures!):

Lots of great photos for all!  And thanks for spoiling us with food & drink & good company afterwards.  We had a great time! 🙂

The Aben Family

My final shoot on Saturday was with the Aben family.  The sky had started to clear up, but it was still pretty chilly.  Samantha & I headed out to scope our location, and I grabbed this one of her before anyone else came out:

Here is the whole happy family:

Hey, look…three kids smiling all at once!  Go figure…

And Mom and Dad all smiles (mostly because they knew a babysitter was on her way and they were gearing up for date night!):

Hope you guys had a great time!

The Leigh Family

Then it was off to visit the Leigh’s.  I haven’t seen these guys in a while, either…since Beau was born, and again, he’s grown like a weed!  He is a very content, chubby bubby, and he and Huck were most cooperative during their shoot.  Christine had set up this great Christmas scene in the den for the family shot:

Grammy Linda made the sweaters for the boys…she is quite talented with yarn!

And here are the boys trying hard NOT to open the present:

And one nice shot outside:

Thanks so much for having me out!  Always great seeing you guys! 🙂

The Oxendine Family

It was not the prettiest Saturday ever for the Oxendine’s family photo, but we made it work.  Kristen was all organized with her outfit changes (for everyone including Sonny).  Elli has grown like crazy since I last saw her.  I think they should start calling her Bam-Bam…she is a rolie-polie 5 month old who is almost sitting on her own, cutting teeth…all kinds of fun stuff!  Here she is with Sonny in thier Redskins get-up:

Sonny is such a good pup…

Here is the fam outside (Sonny was giving up on me at this point…):

And here is a great smile from Elli…

Thank you guys so much for having me out…and thanks so much for sending so many of your friends to me!  🙂

We’re Having Another Baby!

Somewhere out there, my mother is lying on the floor in disbelief.  This isn’t actually true, but if you could guarantee me that if I had three more kids, that our family would be as fun as the Seaman’s, I would sign the dotted line right now!  This family of seven was the MOST fun!  We met at Fox Hill Park in Bowie (where I think I’ve decided I want our family photos taken this year) and the fun began.  We trekked thru the woods to find the stone bridge, and once I realized there really was a stone bridge and they weren’t just taking me out in the woods to kill me and hide my body, I got some really great pictures!  Here is the whole group:

Tal and Heather are raising such great kids…it isn’t everyday that you see siblings who like each other, much less love each other and genuinley seem to enjoy being together.  If you guys wrote a book, I’d be first in line to buy it!

You wouldn’t believe how many tries it took us to get this one right.  “Okay…everyone jump on three!  One, two…”

Totally worth the work…

Here are dad & his beautiful girls:

And mom and her goofy (and handsome) boys:

I can’t tell you how much fun I had yesterday.  I am so glad that Patrick Reilly sent you my way…I will be forever grateful.
