Howard Jones

Rusty & I went to see Howard Jones last night at Ram’s Head Annapolis (and Tia, there were tickets still available, so you should have come!).  We were right up front and it was great!  He is quite the story-teller.  He was telling us how during the process of releasing the single “Like to Get to Know You Well” they had the song title written in a bunch of different languages on the cover of the 45.  (One woman in that audience actually had brought her 45 with her that she bought in 1985!)  The contact in Japan called and asked them to stop the press on the artwork unless he wanted to end his career.  Apparrently, what they had written translated in Japanese to “Like to Force Myself Upon You.”  Needless to say, they made the correction, and the song was a huge hit, even in Japan.  Here he is with the 45:

Many more funny stories were told, along with lots of great music.  And it never gets old to see these musicians up close and personal, who we could have only seen 20 years ago from a distance in a huge arena.

Thanks for a great night, Howard!  🙂

The Shaeffer Boys

That term (‘the shaeffer boys’) had a whole different meaning when I was a kid.  The Shaeffers were the ones who immediately got blamed if there was a pumpkin smashed in the road the morning after Halloween, or your trash cans were tipped.  But these two Shaeffers could not be sweeter (and hopefully that will run straight into their teens).  To get an idea of just how tiny Charlie & George are (each is weighing is at 4 lbs and some change), we put a 2 dollar bill above them:

Here they are with mommy & daddy looking on:

Look at this tangle of toes:

And these shirts may be 100 sizes too big, but I thought they were great (and I love how George stole the show with his wave that covers Charlie’s face):

Can’t wait to watch these two grow this year! 🙂

The Grant Family

I had the honor of doing a 4-generation family shoot for the Grant family this past Saturday.  This is such a fun, tight-knit group…it was truly a pleasure to be the one to capture them.  Here is the whole gang:

I love this shot of great-grandma & Isabela (this little one fell dead asleep minutes after this photo was taken…eyeballs not to be seen again):

And these three goof-balls were like a barrel of monkeys…never a dull moment:

Thank you all so much for having me!  🙂

Meet Mr. Gaius

Here is beautiful baby number two.  Gaius was born on the 5th and weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds.  Look at the size of this guy:

I love this shot of his tootsies:

And here he is (thinking hard about something) with his monkey:

Thanks for having me out in the middle of your sleep-deprived week!  Hope you get some shut-eye soon!  🙂
