The Sands Fam

This morning I did a lighning-fast shoot with the Sands family.  Birthday-boy Brian was teetering on nap-time, so I was trying to work as quickly as possible.  It is hard to believe that a whole year has passed since we did his newborn shoot…he has grown into such a sweet, handome guy…

Jacqui had these outfits made for he and Kylie since Brian is all about balls and such.  (In case you’re wondering where these ADORABLE outfits came from, they are homemade by Carol Branson at Sew Adorable Designs.  Very reasonably priced and very well made…sure to be an heirloom!  I checked out her website, and there are a ton of sweet things.)

And Kylie warmed up to me super-quick today, and put on quite a show for me:

Here is a shot of the whole fam:

And brother and sister together:

How cute is this group??  Thanks so much for having me out!  🙂

Holly’s Hot Belly

This was my first time working with Holly, and boy did I have a blast!  (I hope she did, too…)  What Holly may have thought of as an eyesore in her neighbor’s yard was a dream to me…dilapidated fence, overgrown vines…holy cow!  What more could I ask for?  And a little texture on top (kinda like a cherry…):

And nothing beats a little sun flare in the afternoon:

Just couldn’t get enough of the afternoon light:

One more thanks to Holly for being such a great direction follower, and doing all the weird things outside that I asked…you were awesome!  Can’t wait to meet the little one… 🙂

Luke’s 2nd Birthday

Yesterday, I shot my first birthday party.  It was Luke’s second birthday, and he was surrounded by tons of friends and family, and I was there to catch all the excitement.  I got there a little early and got some family shots and some details…I found this book in Luke’s closet:

Here is the birthday boy with little bro, Shane, who fell asleep shortly after we took this photo:

I love this shot of Luke with Mommy & Daddy:

A little game of one-on-one broke out upstairs:

The theme of the day was ‘Cars’ and they were everywhere!  On the sippy cup favors, the party bags, the cake…even on TV.  Not to mention the gifts:

Thanks to Heather & Mike for having me out…you threw a great party!  Can’t wait to come back this summer!

Welcome, Kayla!

Last week I had the priveledge of photographing Reggie & Nikita’s new baby, Miss Kayla.  She came a little ealrier than expected, but she is the sweetest little peanut!  She was very tired, and slept thru pretty much my whole visit.

 She is out cold!

Love this one with mom & dad’s hands:

Here she is with Daddy, whose voice she already reacts to:

And it was Daddy that got her eyes open when we grabbed this shot:

Thanks so much for having me out…you made a beautiful girl!

The Ricker Kids

Sorry I am so behind on blogging this week…I’ve got a bit of a head cold working on me, and its throwing me off.

Anyhoo, I travelled out to Sykesville country on Monday to meet the Ricker family.  These 4 kiddos were a bundle of energy.  Little Dani was born back in December, so this is thier first photo as a foursome:

Jake does not give up smiles for just anything, but his pal, Aidan, stopped by, and got several out of him:

And who could resist a little girlie in a hat??

There was some great light working in their house…I couldn’t get enough!  Dylan & I were in the middle of a tickle fight in this one:

And here is Miss Dani…looking so sweet (with a little sour gesture) 😉

Thanks so much for having me out!  You guys were great!  And thanks to Lisa Cumberland for the hook-up!

Charleston Weekend

Rusty & I visited Charleston, SC with our friends, the Girtons, this weekend.  What a beautiful city!  It is the second largest historically preserved city in the world…second to Rome.  Can you believe that?  I could have walked around and looked at the beautiful homes and landscaping for days.  Here is a shot of Rusty and I at the Russell House:

Charleston is a peninsula, so at certain points in the city, you can look forward, right and left and see the water.  It was weird to look down three different streets and be able to see so far…

I took some cool texture photos while we were aboard the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown…that is what you see in the previous photo and this next one:

And this is my favorite shot so far.  I haven’t gone thru to edit everything, but this one is it so far:

I actually did the least amount of photoshop on this one…just a big bump of contrast.  I love the blue in the window, and the texture of the brick.

Thanks to Graham & Dawn for putting up with us and doing all our touristy stuff, and for not totally ditching me and my blistery, bleeding feet.  Love you guys…

The Masone Family

My third and final stop Saturday was at the Masone’s.  Miss Madelyn was sick earlier in the week, and had shots on Friday to boot, so given all that, she performed beautifully.  She is such a cutie with an endless supply of smiles.  Here is the whole gang (little brother is due to arrive next month):

She sure seems to be a mommy’s girl:

But she has plenty of love and giggles for Daddy, too…

Here she is with pup, Jessie, who was also very cooperative (for the most part) and friendly:

 Who could resist this face??

Thanks so much for having me!  I can’t wait to meet your newest addition!  And a big thank you to Jacqui Sands for the hook-up!
