Kim & Jason TTD

Well, since Facebook has taken over and the blog has been neglected, I think I am down to like 8 readers.  And since Kim and Jason are two of those frustrated, neglected souls, the least I can do is post photos of them from their Trash the Dress session yesterday.  It was Africa hot yesterday, but we got some gret stuff and had some good laughs getting it.

One of the first shots of the afternoon:

We stopped at Rita’s for some cool refreshment and caught the attention of management, who came outside to take their own photos to send to corporate.  We each walked away with smiles and free Rita’s in hand.  THANK YOU to the girls at the Odenton Rita’s!!

Then we stopped at an unnamed rival school that boasts a pretty sweet field and took some fun pics:

And just in case we forget which anniversary we are celebrating:

Then it was off to Ben Oaks, where Kim & Jason had their first kiss.  DSC_0504

Then Kim really wanted a water shot, but she was a little afraid of crabs.  Here’s what happens when she suspects a crab is underfoot:

And I got this great shot of just Kim at the beginning of the night:

I had a great time, you two.  Love you both!

Cody & Kristen’s E-Session

After what felt like a month of rain, mud, and bad hair, the sun came out and smiled on me as I wandered around Eastport with Cody and Kristen to celebrate their engagement.  The wedding is in August, and I just can’t wait!  (I know, I know…I keep saying I’m not doing weddings anymore, but there are some families that are just SO great to work with, and I learned that these guys are one of them after sister, Melanie’s, wedding…refresh your memory here…)

Anyhoo…we started at Carol’s Creek Cafe where Cody proposed.  We worked our way around the streets and waterfront and just soaked in the beautiful day.

We decided early on that we did not want to be charged with trespassing, so when we gently used people’s yards and such, we did it quickly and quietly. This gate, for instance, was kind enough not to creek open…

Kristen is going to be a stunning bride…

Make a wish…

HLO_3917

Sooo romantic…

And we got this one on the pier by The Chart House.  Look at that sky…how long have we waited to see that?!

HLO_3954

Cody & Kristen – you guys were so much fun!  Can’t wait til the wedding!

Ziggy…where are you??!

I made some more new friends yesterday…meet Jessica & Dan who are expecting their first child in the next couple weeks.  They want the sex of the baby to be a surprise, so for now, the affectionatley refer to him/her as ‘Ziggy’.  Adorable…

Here’s a great shot of the happy couple & baby bump:

Jessica’s mom made this needlepoint for her when she was a baby, and now they have it hanging in Ziggy’s room.  They have a little parlor game they are playing…wanna join?  Can you tell me what the ‘N’ stands for?? (Just hit comment and leave your guesses!)

shat01

Look at Jessica…is she going to be the best mom ever or what?

shat06

Okay, okay…so we got a little silly at the end with the cigar and pickle martini.  And the Safe Baby Handling Book was TOO funny!

I love the snuggle in this next one…

Thank you guys so much for having me out!  Can’t wait to meet Ziggy!  😉

Merchant Belly

More new friends today!  John & Marjorie are expecting their first child in the next couple weeks, so we met today to capture this very special time in their lives.  I’m going to start with my favorite…these two are bound to make a good looking baby, don’t you think?

Wait…maybe this was my favorite:

Hmmm…maybe it was this one…

Does Marjorie make ‘pregnant’ look good or what?!

merch02Gorgeous…

I can’t wait to meet Connor!  🙂

Joe & Wendy Tie the Knot

I’m going to back track to my last wedding of 2008…Joe & Wendy.  I had forgotten how beautiful their photos were!  It was a rainy Saturday (which no bride wants to wake up to), but with an afternoon wedding, the sky had a chance to do a little clearing.  The ceremony was on the shore in Easton, and I grabbed these first two post-ceremony:

hlo_2194

I think this one has a magazine feel to it…

walch01Then we headed back to Annie’s for a yummy dinner and reception, where we were greeted by the most delicious light a photographer could ask for.  Check it:

OH yeah!  That’s what I’m talking about…

Thank you guys SOoo much…you were AWESOME!

October 15th

I usually have a very strict rule that I do not work on my birthday, but at 37, birthdays just aren’t what they used to be.  Besides that, school was out all over town, and my people needed me.  🙂  So I planted myself at Banneker Park in Oella, and my people came.

First was the Hendrick-Holmes family.  Gauis is growing so quickly…he’ll be walking any time now!

I love this red door on the Banneker house (especially when adorable, smiling, well-dressed kids sit in front of it):

(Side note:  Dear Stride Rite (and all other children’s shoe manufacturers), Please stop making kids shoes with unphotogenic soles.  Thank you.)

And a great family shot to top it all off:

Then I met some new friends, Bryan & Jen.  These two hot tamales were willing to do pretty much anything I asked, and they got some really great stuff.

This one was my fave:

The sun was working its way down in the sky as the afternoon passed, and just set the great fall colors on fire!  Love these golden head shots of the Wilking girls:

Thats just one of those pictures where you can hear the giggling, isn’t it??

Then the girls switched outfits into their tutus, and the cute factor went sky high:

Then one last round with Ken & Shannon whose wedding I am shooting in May.  These two are so much fun, and this is one instance where it isn’t me asking them to do weird things, it is Ken who has all the crazy ideas.  I think this photo says it all:

Thanks to all who kept me busy today, not wallowing in the fact that I am getting OLD!!

Mike & Katie’s E Session

I think we have been trying to do this shoot for months now…score a reschedule for each of us, but it all came together this week.  These two are easy on the eyes and a ton of fun to work with.  Mike wanted to start shooting at 7pm, and I said we needed to start at 6…here’s why:

Because Mr.Sun waved bye-bye about 15 minutes after I got that, and that was my first shot at 6pm.  Totally worth you guys rushing to get ready…  🙂

Like I said, easy on the eyes…

Now, this isn’t the real thing (however, if there are any men out there who think it would be cool to have me hiding in the bushes taking pictures while you propose, I would LOVE to do that!), but this shot makes me laugh.  Apparrently, when Mike proposed, Katies gut reaction wasn’t exactly what he expected (and I can’t write those kind of words on my blog, so you’ll have to take my word for it), so we staged a little reinactment:

Katie was really great about getting down on the ground, in a tree, and even on Mike’s back (sometimes when clients are so obedient, afterwards, I think I should have tried harder to see when they’d say no):

And a little Heather shooting thru the heather:

Thanks so much guys!  It was great finally meeting you!
