Kim & Jason TTD

Well, since Facebook has taken over and the blog has been neglected, I think I am down to like 8 readers.  And since Kim and Jason are two of those frustrated, neglected souls, the least I can do is post photos of them from their Trash the Dress session yesterday.  It was Africa hot yesterday, but we got some gret stuff and had some good laughs getting it.

One of the first shots of the afternoon:

We stopped at Rita’s for some cool refreshment and caught the attention of management, who came outside to take their own photos to send to corporate.  We each walked away with smiles and free Rita’s in hand.  THANK YOU to the girls at the Odenton Rita’s!!

Then we stopped at an unnamed rival school that boasts a pretty sweet field and took some fun pics:

And just in case we forget which anniversary we are celebrating:

Then it was off to Ben Oaks, where Kim & Jason had their first kiss.  DSC_0504

Then Kim really wanted a water shot, but she was a little afraid of crabs.  Here’s what happens when she suspects a crab is underfoot:

And I got this great shot of just Kim at the beginning of the night:

I had a great time, you two.  Love you both!

Cody & Kristen’s E-Session

After what felt like a month of rain, mud, and bad hair, the sun came out and smiled on me as I wandered around Eastport with Cody and Kristen to celebrate their engagement.  The wedding is in August, and I just can’t wait!  (I know, I know…I keep saying I’m not doing weddings anymore, but there are some families that are just SO great to work with, and I learned that these guys are one of them after sister, Melanie’s, wedding…refresh your memory here…)

Anyhoo…we started at Carol’s Creek Cafe where Cody proposed.  We worked our way around the streets and waterfront and just soaked in the beautiful day.

HLO_3830

We decided early on that we did not want to be charged with trespassing, so when we gently used people’s yards and such, we did it quickly and quietly. This gate, for instance, was kind enough not to creek open…

Kristen is going to be a stunning bride…

Make a wish…

Sooo romantic…

And we got this one on the pier by The Chart House.  Look at that sky…how long have we waited to see that?!

Cody & Kristen – you guys were so much fun!  Can’t wait til the wedding!

The Rafter’s

It was the big annual Easter Egg hunt at Melissa & Andy’s yesterday, and the Rafters were out in full Easter cuteness.  It was pretty windy yesterday, so we used the red wall in their sunroon for a lot of the pics (which I think looks great!) Here is the Oak Family:

David’s family:

Sarah’s family (who we managed to get outside in between bursts of wind, which Sadie thought were hilarious):

Well, that is a little snippet of everyone…Thank you guys so much for having me out!  It was great seeing everyone again!

Joe & Wendy Tie the Knot

I’m going to back track to my last wedding of 2008…Joe & Wendy.  I had forgotten how beautiful their photos were!  It was a rainy Saturday (which no bride wants to wake up to), but with an afternoon wedding, the sky had a chance to do a little clearing.  The ceremony was on the shore in Easton, and I grabbed these first two post-ceremony:

I think this one has a magazine feel to it…

walch01Then we headed back to Annie’s for a yummy dinner and reception, where we were greeted by the most delicious light a photographer could ask for.  Check it:

OH yeah!  That’s what I’m talking about…

Thank you guys SOoo much…you were AWESOME!

October 15th

I usually have a very strict rule that I do not work on my birthday, but at 37, birthdays just aren’t what they used to be.  Besides that, school was out all over town, and my people needed me.  🙂  So I planted myself at Banneker Park in Oella, and my people came.

First was the Hendrick-Holmes family.  Gauis is growing so quickly…he’ll be walking any time now!

I love this red door on the Banneker house (especially when adorable, smiling, well-dressed kids sit in front of it):

(Side note:  Dear Stride Rite (and all other children’s shoe manufacturers), Please stop making kids shoes with unphotogenic soles.  Thank you.)

And a great family shot to top it all off:

Then I met some new friends, Bryan & Jen.  These two hot tamales were willing to do pretty much anything I asked, and they got some really great stuff.

This one was my fave:

The sun was working its way down in the sky as the afternoon passed, and just set the great fall colors on fire!  Love these golden head shots of the Wilking girls:

Thats just one of those pictures where you can hear the giggling, isn’t it??

Then the girls switched outfits into their tutus, and the cute factor went sky high:

Then one last round with Ken & Shannon whose wedding I am shooting in May.  These two are so much fun, and this is one instance where it isn’t me asking them to do weird things, it is Ken who has all the crazy ideas.  I think this photo says it all:

October 11th

My morning started off with one of my favorite families, the Robinson’s.  The girls were all ready in their matching dresses, eager to show me their new rooms (they are expecting a new baby brother, so after a minor construction project -haha- new bedrooms all around!

I think this may be one of my all-time faves of the girls:

Thanks to all for a great picture day, and for waiting so long to finally see your pics blogged!

I’m BACK, baby!

Happy 2009!  I am getting back in the saddle, so I hope you are all ready for some major blog catch-up.  This poor blog has been neglected for so long…this is one of those things, where you feel like you don’t even know where to start.  Well, I have figured that out, and it looks like October 9th is the place.  Yikes…

So here we go…

My day had an early start at the Wetzel home in Arnold.  The kids had off of school, and mom had scheduled an early photo shoot, followed by a dentist appointment.  Poor Brandon & Jordan…how much torture can two kids take on an otherwise relaxing day off of school?  This was our third year working together, and we even got mom & dad in on the fun this time.  Here is the whole gang:

wetzel01

Its so nice when siblings seem to genuinley like each other (this doesn’t happen in  my house too often):

wetzel02

Brandon & Jordan are very active & athletic, so we always try to throw something fun (and acrobatic) in at the end.  This year Brandon did his own stunts:

wetzel03

Thanks, you guys, for being so much fun so early in the morning!

Then it was off to the Coleman’s…Tommy & Macey are always full of energy, and ready to show me everything new since I’ve seen them last.  Then once we’re all caught up, we get down to work.  Adn they start showing me smiles like these:

coleman01

Another set of sibling who really like each other:

coleman02

And then they wanted to take a picture with me (which I thought was just precious):

coleman03

Note to self:  Wide angle lens next time.

Anyhoo…

Okay…onto shoot #3 for the day…the Gilliards!  Gwen and I have been friends since middle school, and (I may have said this before) but she & hubby, Chopper, have birthed two of the cutest kids around.  This year they threw a pup inot the mix just to keep me on my toes.  Here is the whole gang:

gilliard03

Caroline is such a sweetie:

gilliard02

And now that I am looking at these, I am remembering what an unseasonable warm day this was.  I think everyone was sweating in thier sweaters by the time we finished.  But Christmas photos in tank tops would have been a little odd…

Kyle gave me a run for my money, but take notes my little friends…mess with the bull?  The bull always gets the smile…

gilliard01

Bring it, little man!

So I hopped in the car, peeled off MY sweater (cuz I was sweating, too), and headed up to Catonsville to meet the Morsberger girls for more smiles:

morsb01

Moose took advantage of the open area and ran around like a nut, while Abigail & Katherine hung with me and giggled like nuts:

morsb02

Then we got a shot of all the girlies to surprise daddy…aren’t they pretty??

morsb03

So that was my day!  Stay tuned…I’m going to try and catch up day by day.  Even if it kills me!  (Which it may…)
